Le Mans Paris’e yakın küçük bir şehirin ismidir. Le Mans 24 Saat Yarışı ise dünyanın en önemli otomobil yarışlarından biridir. Takımlar bu yarışta, 24 saat boyunca en fazla turu atabilmek için yarışır. Dayanıklılık bu yarıştaki en önemli unsurdır.
Yarışların yapıldığı Circuit de la Sarthe pistinin uzunluğu 13.469 km’dir. Bu yarışta piste çıkan araçların tümü prototiptir.
1923 yılından bu yana düzenlenen yarışlar, 1939-1949 yılları arasında, II. Dünya Savaşı süresinde yapılamamıştır.
Le Mans is a small city near Paris. ‘The Le Mans 24 Hours Race’ is one of the most important car races in the world. In this race, the teams compete with each other for the maximum number of rounds on the pitch in exactly 24 hours. Durability is the most important factor in this race.
The length of Circuit de la Sarthe track, where races were held, was 13,469 km. All of the cars that come off the track in this race are prototypes.
Being organized since 1923, these races did not take place during World War II., between 1939 and 1949.
